Elevate Earth landed in Mallorca
Elevate Earth: Racing for Resilience. An inspiring event for the preservation of our environment.
Last March 29, Club Pollença in Mallorca witnessed the third edition of the Elevate Earth: Racing for Resilience event. The first two editions were held in 2023 in Chamonix, and this year the project takes a step forward by expanding the number of events and the locations where they will be held.
Elevate Earth is an inspiring experience in which not only the projects of the Kilian Jornet Foundation aimed at mountain preservation are highlighted, but in about an hour and a half, topics such as climate change are discussed and projects aimed at reverse its impact, as well as initiatives that promote sustainability in not only environmental, but also social and economic areas, are presented.
On this edition, the event ended with a round table between the Nnormal athletes, Dakota Jones, Tòfol Castanyer and Alejandro Forcades, who shared the projects in which they are involved and which pivot on education and science as engines of change. Alejandro and Tòfol talked about the different talks they carry out in schools in the territory and there was a debate about the importance of education as a way of transition to a society that aims to be more respectful with our environment. When it was Dakota’s turn, he shared his latest project; Footprints, which aims to generate actions in the community in order to contribute to different ideas and projects that, from a scientific and social point of view, can reverse the negative effects of climate change and be the impetus to generate a positive impact, both on an environmental and social scale.
It was a pleasure to share this space with everyone who joined us during the day. Elevate Earth seeks to create this meeting point between outdoor lovers and the will to generate a positive change in our relationship with the environment.
This doesn’t stop here, stay tuned and look out for the next Elevate Earth: Racing for Resilience events, which you can be a part of!
