From the Mountain to the Sea – The path towards a Healthy Environment
Together we can make a difference in the fight against pollution and the preservation of our natural environment.
The Kilian Jornet Foundation is proud to organize “From Mountain to Sea – The path towards a Healthy Environment”, which will take place next Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the city of Barcelona.
This event will mark the start of the European Waste Prevention Week, which will run until November 26.
The Kilian Jornet Foundation recognized the synergies shared between various entities and environmental associations, especially in the mountain and sea areas, and decided to bet on a collaborative day that encourages the participation of all these. In this context, it has been decided to organize a clean up day and workshops for prevention and awareness of its environmental impact. The day will be held in the city of Barcelona, with the close collaboration of Barcelona City Council.
The main objective of this initiative is to make the community aware of the negative impacts that waste has on the environment. In addition to the collection and characterization of waste, a special focus will be placed on raising awareness about its reduction and the promotion of sustainable alternatives.
The city of Barcelona has been selected as the ideal setting for this day, as it offers a powerful communication platform and its orography allows a visual understanding of the impact of waste through the three environments: mountain, city and sea. The general public and all environmental entities and other areas of social impact are invited to join this event. This day will be a unique opportunity to understand the damage that waste pollution causes to nature and ourselves, as well as to propose effective solutions. The assistance and support of Barcelona City Council’s cleaning teams will allow us to get to know them better and understand the importance of their work.
The campaign will develop according to the following times and locations:
Mountain – Collserola Natural Park
