Thanks to the grant granted by the Pinnae Foundation, we have started the educational project called “Territory, Sustainability and Environmental Preservation“.
The main objective of the project is to learn about the impact of the waste we generate and what we must do to reduce it, also working on how this waste should be managed.
To be able to carry out this project, we have designed several games that will help to energize the sessions, and interactively share with the younger ones the impact that waste has on the environment and what we can do to reduce it. But we didn’t stop there, we went into action and with the help of Penedès Verd and Centre Excursionista del Penedès, several clean ups were organized with the students, managing to collect more than 3 tons among all of them!
With the main objective of raising awareness, the project will end with an open clean up coordinated by Penedès Verd on May 12, 2024, which will be open to everyone who wants to participate.
In this first edition of the project, four schools in Vilafranca have participated, which has allowed us to reach more than 200 students.
The schools that joined us on this project were Escola Vedruna, Escola Cristòfor, Escola Mas i Perera and Escola Montagut.
The project will come to an end on May 16 with the closing ceremony that will be held at the Auditorium of the Pinnae Foundation, where all the schools and students will attend together with the collaborating entities, and the Vilafranca del Penedès City Council.
